Polycom Korea’s video-enabled work processes, faster decision-making and culture of video collaboration earns accolades from Korea Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS), supports government smart work initiatives
Seoul – March 4, 2013: Polycom, Inc. (Nasdaq: PLCM), the global leader in open, standards-based unified communications and collaboration (UC&C), today announced that it has been recognized as a Smart Work Excellence Company by Korea’s Ministry of Public Administration and Security (MOPAS) and National Information Society Agency (NIA).
The 2012 Smart Work Excellence Awards, held in Seoul on January 13, recognized companies who have adopted efficient and smart work cultures, with the aim of promoting MOPAS’ key mandate to support the Korean Government’s Smart Work Vitalization Strategy. Smart Work is a practice that focuses on maximizing efficiency and productivity in the workplace through the creation of a flexible work environment, in which employees have greater choice in when and where they do their work through the use of advanced technology solutions. Awardees had to successfully demonstrate improved productivity, competency, employee satisfaction, and overall cost reduction through the implementation of smarter working practices, which include innovative uses of video collaboration technology.
Polycom's UC&C solutions, which include video and voice solutions for conference rooms to the desktop and mobile environments, enable employees to work from home and remotely to keep business operations running smoothly and create a highly collaborative environment that significantly improves learning, retention, trust and engagement, as well as overall productivity and efficiency. Polycom’s award-winning Seoul office utilizes the Polycom® RealPresence® Platform to power desktop, room and mobile video collaboration solutions for streamlined communication between local teams, regional headquarters in Singapore, and global headquarters in the U.S.
“Polycom Korea has created a flexible corporate culture by actively utilizing its own video conferencing solutions for efficient collaboration amongst remote teams, regardless of time or location,” said Dae-Jun Shin, country manager of Polycom Korea. “The Smart Work Excellence Company award proves that Polycom, as the global leader in unified communications and collaboration, is fully utilizing video collaboration to create a smart work culture,” he added.
