Label Broadcast Provides a Game-Changing Solution for International Football championship with Matrox Monarch EDGE Series

At the best-known quadrennial international football championship qualifiers between Singapore and Guam in October 2023, Label Broadcast delivered high-quality program SRT feeds of the match to Sportfive Asia using Matrox Monarch EDGE S1 encoders.

Football Qualifying Matches 

For the qualifying match between Singapore and Guam, Sportfive Asia needed Label Broadcast to provide them with a simple yet affordable solution that would effectively deliver high-quality and real-time streams to passionate viewers. Chang was confident in supplying a broadcast solution that would meet their needs. He provided Sportfive Asia with ‘road packs’ that included two SRT-capable Monarch EDGE S1 encoders, one main and one back-up, for the match at the Singapore National Stadium.  

The Monarch EDGE encoders enabled Label Broadcast to transmit two high-quality and low-latency program feeds, using SRT, from the main and backup encoders. The Label Broadcast service included stream analysis, monitoring, and recording for post-production and archiving. 

The remote production workflow reduces the size of the production team, and using Monarch EDGE encoders eliminated the need to send additional production equipment, such as a DSNG satellite truck, to the stadium. The low-cost approach for the project made covering the match viable for Sportfive. On top of all that, Label Broadcast and Sportfive Asia easily integrate the SRT-compatible Monarch EDGE encoders into their existing workflows for packaging, streaming, and distribution. 

Football Association Singapore 

In addition to providing streams to Sportfive for distribution and online consumption across the region, Label Broadcast lalauses Monarch EDGE to record all the games and deliver them to the Football Association Singapore for analysis, hosting, and archival purposes. The onboard recording feature in Monarch EDGE reduces the amount of equipment sent to the production site and lowers the total budget. These cost-effective workflows, with broadcast quality feeds, open up new business opportunities, satisfy viewers and teams, and increase the long-term value of each event. 

E-Sports

Label Broadcast has expanded its reach into E-Sports. As recently as 2022, it provided production services for Astro eGG Network E1 Championship tournament series, which sought to broaden its E-Sports audience in Southeast Asia. Astro tasked Label Broadcast with sending high-quality interlaced video from the tournament to eGG-affiliated broadcasters. To achieve this, Label Broadcast developed a streaming plus transcoding pipeline to convert progressive video to interlaced format, made possible by interlaced video support in Monarch EDGE, ideal for broadcast workflows.
